Inyoung Son, an art university graduate, initially pursued menswear design before relocating to Japan to immerse himself in photography. His artistic practice subsequently expanded into music, evolving into a multidisciplinary identity rooted in sound and visual expression. Son’s industrial-aesthetic music encompasses raw textures, percussive intensity, and ritualistic atmospheres, extending the material sensibilities of his visual art. For him, music constitutes an integrated form of expression, seamlessly blending auditory and visual experiences. He has released mix sets on esteemed platforms such as HÖR, Brutal Forms, and Knife, and delivered impactful DJ sets for collectives in Korea, Japan, and Berlin. Notably, he is the founder of hyperborea., an experimental platform that explores industrial techno and beyond.
